Our Story

BOVELLE began with a simple question: Why has tallow disappeared from modern cosmetics?

Not for performance reasons—tallow creates exceptional slip, holds pigment beautifully, and wears like a second skin. It was dismissed for marketing reasons.

We started formulating with organic, grass-fed tallow because of what it does, not what it represents. The fatty acid profile creates richness without weight. The texture allows buildable color that blends seamlessly. The finish looks like skin, not makeup.

As we developed our first formulas—foundation, blush, bronzer, highlighter—we kept returning to a core principle: ingredients should earn their place through performance, not trends.

From there, the line expanded naturally. If tallow works this well in makeup, why not skincare? Why not body care? The same properties that create slip in foundation provide lasting hydration in moisturizers and non-greasy moisture in body cream.

Every product is made fresh to order in our Maryland studio. No warehouses. No old stock. Just intentional formulation, one batch at a time.

How We Work

  • Source

    We source organic, grass-fed tallow from pasture-raised cattle. The animals are never given hormones or antibiotics.

  • Render & Filter

    Tallow is rendered at low temperatures to preserve its beneficial fatty acids, then filtered multiple times to create a clean, odorless cosmetic base.

  • Formulate

    We combine tallow with carefully selected oils, waxes, and performance ingredients to create formulas optimized for their specific purpose.

  • Make Fresh

    When you order, we make your product. We weigh, mix, fill, and label by hand. Your order ships within 3-5 business days.

  • Ship

    Products are packaged carefully and shipped directly to you. No middlemen. No retail markup. No sitting inventory.
